This skill provides helps with your post-discharge care if you are enrolled in the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program from the Boston Children’s Heart Center. You can link the skill to your ERAS patient account and perform daily check-in. You can also ask Alexa for your upcoming appointments post-surgery.

By using the “ERAS Voice Skill” you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this privacy policy. This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that is provided by the user to the ERAS Voice Skill in the companion patient portal and other metadata that is collected for usage analytics. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies or institutions that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.
The ERAS Voice Skill enables the patients enrolled in the Cardic ERAS program to access prep and post discharge information about their cardic surgery. They can access appointment details and education and guidance about their specific surgery. In addition through the skill they can submit some details like activity level, sleep level, eating level, pain medication and wound information etc. about their current health for the care team to review.
The Voice Skill handles information from you in two ways. The first is information that you manually enter into the skill. The second is anonymized usage analytics of what features in the skill are users accessing.
The voice skill stores the information you provide during daily check-in and interactions with the skill in a secure and HIPAA compliant manner in Boston Children’s managed information servers.
Amazon collects and securely stores both the spoken utterance from the customer, and the skill's response, to improve and troubleshoot the voice experience. The information stored by Amazon during user interactions for this skill are stored in a HIPAA compliant manner.

All information collected through the Voice Skill is encrypted during transit and storage. Before using the Voice Skill it is required that the user links to their registered “ERAS patient account”. This enables the Voice Skill to securely get personalized patient information. In addition, it is recommended that a user sets up a voice PIN to protect access to information accessible through the Voice Skill.
We endeavor to protect the privacy of the Personal Information we hold in our records, but we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors outside of Boston Children’s control may compromise the security of information accessible through the Voice Skill.
Your personal information and data generated by through interactions with the Voice Skill are yours. We will only release your data or health information if authorized by you or when compelled by a legal order to release your information. The information collected by the Voice Skill will not be shared with or sold for advertising purposes.
When you install the Voice Skill, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable license (without the right to sublicense) to install and use a copy of the Voice Skill solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You must own or control the Alexa device and account on which you download the Voice Skill. By installing and using the Voice Skill, you agree that you will not do anything to interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Voice Skill, will provide only accurate and current information through the Voice Skill, and will not impersonate anyone else in your use of the Voice Skill. You further agree not to transmit content that you do not have the right to transmit or that infringes the rights of any party, and you agree to use the Voice Skill in compliance with all applicable laws. You understand that the Voice Skill or portions of it may be subject to patent, copyright, trademark and other intellectual property protection and that the ownership of software and other intellectual property related to the Voice Skill, as well the goodwill associated therewith, remains with Boston Children's Hospital or its licensors. You agree that any improvements or other changes to the Voice Skill or the Study itself are the sole property of Boston Children's Hospital.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of March 1, 2019. We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. New versions of this Privacy Policy are effective upon notification to you via email that changes to the Privacy Policy have been made. Use of information we collect now is subject to the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used This Privacy Policy forms part of our End User License Agreement and as such shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Massachusetts as further provided in the End User License Agreement.
